*to a night of music.

dancing your night away.

happy birthday amber,

and a big salute to our loss of clubbing virginity.

it was an awesome experience, and it was great to dance for almost two hours straight without rest. had lots of fun and met a few interesting people along the way. : )

just the night lights, the music, and us on the dance floor.

hiatus and a quick update.

first of all i owe my readers an apology for the lack of updates for so long. michellious has been busying herself with quite a handful of things, but finally i decided to sit my butt down and not postpone the update any longer.

just got back from sarawak last saturday to kayelle. had the usual "mixed-feelings" going on in my head the day before i got back. i love home and am going to miss it when i leave, but i also miss the fun of being in the big city. it was all quite confusing.

third and final semester of my foundation in mass communication course has finally begun. it was really great to see everyone again. classes this sem include:

principals of economics
media appreciation
social psychology
moral education
english for college studies 3

it all sounds stressful but hopefully i'll be able to pull through this semester. list of lecturers from last sem that we will be seeing this sem would be ms thaera for media appreciation, mr zaim for moral ed and ms mary for english this semester. : ) yay yay.

our classes for econs and moral ed are now combined with the march intake students, so that means i'll be seeing more of candice! i'm personally excited because she's such fun to be with. : ) we actually started our first "combined" class yesterday and i sat with candice (as promised) and neeshan (our personal flight attendant is back!!).

an incident that happened during econs lecture:

mr. philip: so who here cannot swim?

candice: (silently to me) i don't think we should worry - we've got floatation devices!! *points to boobs*

hahaha. :D

so far classes in college are alright. all of our courses sound a lot more difficult now, but i'll be crossing my fingers and hoping that everything will be okay. my CGPA is still currently a 3 so it's acceptable, but i'd have to work extra hard and raise the bar up a little so as to secure my position for degree next year. : \

have you ever missed a close friend so badly that your mind throbs incessantly and your heart aches? she's only been gone for 18 days and it's already driving me up the wall. not having my text buddy around is frustrating. : ( come back soon sweetheart. starbucks at the end of the world, the birdpark and silverfish appointments are awaiting. : ) *sends big hugs*

before i sign off, i have to mention that i might be going on hiatus for the time being. there are still some more stuff that i have to deal with and things to be settled before i am able to blog properly again. but i promise to be back soon!! : )

xx love love,

michellious.

22 July 2009

Of wishes.

may they have all the best and bless their souls so that they come home safe.

best of luck, my little drama team. : )

finally it arrives. : )

i've been looking forward to this card ever since i got back. thanks tiffo. you never fail to make me smile a whole bunch. your words warm my heart like no other. i miss you. : )

and surprise surprise. : )

it took me a while while just to figure out whom this was from. but i knew the moment i opened the card and saw the beautiful flower fall out. : )

thanks for this wonderful surprise, love. it really made my day. it makes me smile when i read the card. your familiar voice comes into my mind and i would laugh. this is without a doubt going onto my wall of fame, AMBER KHOO SUI YING.

p/s i can still see the pencil lines you drew just to write the address. hahaha!

and - the results for my second semester is finally out.

laughter is the best medicine, no?

15-16 July: Deaney's Arrival & The 19th Witching Hour

15th July 2009: The Arrival of Deaney

went off to the airport to pick up one of our dearest friends who just flew in from hong kong. we haven't seen deaney for almost 6 months so we were pretty excited about meeting up with him. : )

and the surprise pick-up at the airport proved to be a success.

in hiding, waiting to give deaney a surprise.

our little boy. : )

and he's back! : D

greeted with the warmest hospitality. his mum is just the sweetest. : )

we chatted up a storm and it was great to see everyone together again. we actually planned to head down to Starbucks after but i was called home instead...

but little did i know what they had up their sleeves.

16th July 2009: The 19th Witching Hour

as soon as i got home from deaney's, i plonked down in front of the PC and decided to go on facebook. i was almost dead tired so i slowly took my time and replied everyone's birthday wish on my facebook wall. chowzers and ong ing spent the last minutes of my 18th with me online. thanks sweetz. : )

but as i was IM-ing them online, suddenly the air around me stifled. it was this sixth sense feeling which told me that something was about to happen... and the next thing i knew i was dragged outside by zin and amelia. they hauled me all the way outside my house and didn't even gimme time to put on some decent shoes!! my mum was behind it too and i can still remember the delight in her face when she just stood at the door, looking at my friends dragging me away.

what's more, they decided to blind-fold me. i literally felt like one of the girls on MTV's Room Raiders. =_=

blind-folding me.

on the way to deaney's house. still, blind-folded. :P

i didn't have to really guess where they were taking me because there wasn't anywhere else they could bring me but to deaney's place. :P stayed up till 3am just hanging around and chillaxing. : )

only managed to wake up at 9.14am, but that was only because i've gotten a phone call from monkey grizzy and mummie debbers all the way from new zealand. : ) headed downstairs to have breakfast and was greeted by the sight of a wonderful meal awaiting at the dinner table. : )

morning breakfast.

锅贴!♥

egg tartz! :D

dean's mum's homemade noodles! it's super nice! those crispy golden things that you see on top? strictly non-halal, hehe. but isz AWESOMEZ! :D

dragonfruit sorbet! didn't think it was possible, but apparently she proved me wrong. super love! :DDDD *salivates*

deaney's mum does one of the best foods eva! : D

zin and her new haircut.

our deaney. : )

didn't really do anything much after that. went back home soon after to get ready for dinner with the family. headed down to Nikko for a japanese dinner and had a few good laughs there. : )

flaming birthday cheesecakez! :D am loving the candlez that throw blue sparks after they were lit! *squealz*

mum and sisters prepared a surprise cake for me the minute we got back from dinner. i personally am never really fond of huge ass cakes, so they were nice enough to get me a small petite cheesecake (like moi :P) and placed awesome candles on top.

i've always wanted a tiny cake with those pretty glittering "Happy Birthday!" candles that give off pretty blue sparks in the dark. and this year i finally got it. : ) *loves*

THANK YOU MUMMY!!! _glomps_

michellious and her happy cake. :D

the melted wax look like icing. :P

after the small cake-cutting session, it's on to my annual alcoholic drink at a bar. : ) this year, i gave the honour of choosing my alcoholic beverage to two of my favourite people in the world - and they decided on a margarita lime for me. : )

us @ Island.

a plate of althea loi. :P

after the hangout at Island, we moved on to Al Fresco!

the bday girl and her virgin pina colada. : ) non-alcoholic sim, don't worry. :P

don't ask. :P

my creamy awesomez pina colada. isz LOVE. :D

the person who had a singapore sling and zin. : )

moved home around 1.30am after a round of the drinks. : )

overall it was a cool birthday. i can't deny the fact that it is a far cry from my previous ones, but i'll count my blessings nonetheless. : )

56 birthday wishes on my facebook, 14 text messages on my mobile (since people prefer to facebook the wishes now hehe), two international phone calls (one from sweden LOVE.LOVE.LOVE.LOVE.LOVE and one from new zealand by two of my favourite people in the world) and one phone call on the dot with a birthday song sung to me on the other line by my feisty little girl.

oh. and not forgetting the lovely presents. : )

kowtow to me because i have FRANCfranc merchandise and you don't. :P

《渺渺》,我最爱!!^_^

a present from youngest sister - porcelain cup with DRAGONFLIES!!! :D this, without a doubt, is my favourite. : )

12 July 2009

*comfort.

at first the bubbles danced frantically in the water before slowly waltzing their way onto the surface. they melted into each other, forming the steam that raised up and kissed me gently on my face when i leaned in to make sure that the temperature was right.

almost there, i told myself. give it just another minute or two.

i opened the lid of the box carefully and scooped out two tablespoonful of tea leaves. very gracefully i sifted dried leaves into the hot waters below and watched as they bled throughout the water, staining it with a slow dark colour.

my hand found its way into the little plastic box full of spices and fished out bits of cinnamon, cloves, peppercorns and cardamoms. i broke the sticks of cinnamon, the aroma bursting from its wooden texture. the smell of cardamom, pepper and cloves stung my nose as i bruised them with the end of my knife. the bittersweet essence of spices filled my lungs as i inhaled, intoxicating me with its divine fragrance. i closed my eyes and felt with my fingers, taking only an amount of all the ingredients as my heart sees fit.

very delicately i poured the spices into the pot of cooking tea and watched as the flavours blended into each other, adding a unique intensity to the dark beverage. i gracefully stirred everything so the taste would stay together. the incense calmly wafted into the air, filling the whole kitchen with its strong aroma.

i took out the warm milk that was heating in the microwave and smoothly poured the tea into it. a small smile formed on my lips as i watched the dark colour of the tea mix with the pure whiteness of the milk, creating a swirl of ying and yang as they formed a smooth milky brown. i pulled the tea in the cups until i ended up with a nicely mixed beverage with light froth bubbles on its surface.

finally i brought the cup to my lips and very carefully i sipped it. the silky taste teased the tastebuds on my tongue before making its was down my throat. i could feel myself smile and glow as the familiar flavours burst in my mouth.

for that fraction of a second my memories brought me back to the day when i stood in her kitchen and witnessed the beauty of making masala chai. she made it all seem so simple, but for every step that she took to make the tea she made it with her heart and soul.

maybe that's why people call it Soul Food.

i lovingly wrapped my hands around the warm cup and made my way to the living room. i placed the movie that i have just recently bought into the CD player and sat myself down with my cup of comfort. the familiar scenes came to life, lines and lines of breath-taking poetry bringing me back to the first time when i watched the movie and fell in love with it

drinking masala chai and watching Shakespeare in Love once in a breezy afternoon.

that's what i call love and comfort.

it feels good to be home. : )

10 July 2009

Goodnight, City Lights.

i stood there, unmoving. looking down from the 17th floor of my apartment, i see the traffic moving fast on the highway. it was dark out, despite having the city lights glowing in splatters all around. the outline of my college is barely even visible, hiding behind the silhouette of shadows formed by the dim lights that lined the streets.

at the stroke of 9.40 this morning, everything in my second semester came to a halt. my mind raced with so many thoughts: the solidity of relationships formed, the roller coaster ride that we were put through, the emotions that's come and gone, the exams. everything. and on my last night here i can't help but think about how much i would miss all of it. i remembered wanting everything to just be done and over with, but now i wished it would still go on.

the after party at The Pyramid was a good one. smiles were all around, and i felt at ease. i had the people that make me smile around me - what more could i want, right?

i tilted my head up and looked into the pitch black sky, with streaks of red that bled throughout the horizon. i kept my eye steady and scanned carefully. the time was right, and it would be about time.

slowly and patiently, i waited.

surely enough there it was, that tiny dot of a light - one red, one yellow - blinking in the midst of darkness. i wasn't sure, but i didn't care. i gave one of the biggest smiles i could give and waved at the plane, hoping that you're quietly doing the same. 28 days may seem like a very long time, but i'll be counting down every second until you come back home again.

the demon birds are waiting for us, love. enjoy yourself and come back soon.

and thank you for the pre-present, because now i'll have a piece of you with me wherever i go, no matter where you are in the world.

09 July 2009

撑着点。

雨,

下了。

它,

不会也真的猜得到

我心里的感觉吧?

甜甜的、

酸酸的。

like david of the book of lost things,

i follow my own routine everyday.

因为

真的很害怕

一旦错过了任何一个 routine,

现在所拥有的一切

会就会慢慢地消失。

知道自己

不应该为别人哭泣。

可是

多多少少还是很舍不得。

现在,

唯一能做的

就只有等待。

06 July 2009

Before it all ends.

i used to think that everything's so draggingly slow;

that time needed to go faster.

but as the semester comes to a close, i think it's going rather too fast.

i can't help but to lie in bed, thinking about how my second semester at taylor's is about to end. so many things have changed; and so many things have evolved. if we were to turn back time, we would never have imagined it like this.

i wish there was a way i can place the feelings that i'm going through now.

so thick

so intense

so fulfilling.

my heart is just bursting with every emotion imaginable. and what's more, it's july - the month in which i dearly hang on to every second.

the witching hour will soon commence.

am i ready for the 19th session to start? i don't know.

everything else seems so different this year. a little peace and quiet would do good.

but i'll miss them. a lot.

finals are up soon. the suspense - it's killing me, almost.

so many emotions; all at once.

can you feel it bursting already?

01 July 2009

remember the previous post where i said michellious did something and wanted ya'll to guess what it was?

well, here goes:

snip snip snip. : )

yes, michellious finally went for the haircut. : P

i was tired of my old "dora the explorer" hair, and it started flying in all directions so i had to change my hair again. since my hair was already short, the only option that i could take was to go for a pixie cut.

originally wanted to get karla's awesome hairdo, but turned out to be slightly more rihanna than ever.

lol but at least it was a change. : )

decided to get the haircut on the 30th so during the event on the 1st (and the beginning of the new month) i could start afresh.

collection of reactions include:

" *jaw drops* "

"oh. my. GAWD! michelle!!!"

"that's damn cool wei! :D"

"and who is THIS? is there a new girl in class? how come i've never seen her before? *cheeky smile and gives one big hug* " (mamie t, 2009)

but the cutest reaction, i have to say, was omer's:

"HOLY CRAPPPP!!!!!1111111

.... looks good on ya though. *wink* "

hahahaha. : )

yes i know imma shortie. : P
