hope you are fine and not bored like i am who have been spending the past 4 hours of her morning sitting in front of her laptop doing nothing useful but reading blogs and logging into and out of (and into) Facebook again and again.

i cannot tell you how glad i am that second semester's finally starting tomorrow...


... but is it just me and my insecurity, or does everyone else feel that our second semester has something in store for us too? like what we're facing in our second sem is a lot more different and a hell lots more challenging than our first?; something that's creeping up behind us from the dark corners and it just can't wait to strike and dig its nails into us?

anyway, i was talking to CharT late last night. we were discussing about our future universities and she's trying to get me to go to UK.

i'm not sure if i can actually continue my studies in the UK since my degree programme's connected with the University of South Australia's bachelor's degree programme, but then again i'm having second thoughts.




currently spending time surfing online for the universities and checking out plausible universities and sending off inquiry emails.






i highly doubt that any other university overseas would gladly welcome me to their alma mater but it doesn't hurt to give it a go eh?














i think the super-extra time that i'm spending here is giving me second thoughts about everything.

and somehow,



it makes me miss home even more. : (










urgh this is SO contradictory. when i'm here, i miss home. and when i'm home, i miss my friends here.

Down with the cough. New timetable(?). [UPDATED]

currently sitting in the library in campus, trying to regain consciousness as my eyelids keep forcing themselves shut.

i've been down with a minor cough when i got back from miri, but seemingly my condition has escalated and i don't feel any better. i've been coughing my lungs out last night, killing myself enough as it is.


anyone know any remedies that i can use to cure the cough? i'd really appreciate it if anyone can help me with this.

somehow i feel that we're being ripped off. our timetable's set to a really REALLY loose schedule as compared to our first semester. and heck, we only have 3 subjects in our first sem and yet our schedule was more uptight compared to our timetable now which has 5 subjects in it.

O_O




i really hope the college does something about this. seriously.

most of my housemates have gone off for a vacay because it's their hols for the week. audrey's gone back to jakarta; vonny's off to thailand for the week and the Princess is also back to her hometown too.


now all that's left in the whole unit are shella, mei, and me.

Incompetence of the Student Portal. : (

when i last logged into the student portal, it said that our actual SPM results are to be handed in latest on the 3rd of April 2009.




so i had it all set in my brain: 3rd. April. 2009. okay. got it.





but then,


today,


when i checked the student portal again,





the people in charge posted an announcement just yesterday (and out of the blue), saying









TODAY (26TH MARCH 2009) IS THE LAST DAY TO HAND IN YOUR ACTUAL SPM RESULTS TO THE PROGRAMME OFFICE.

Trip to Aquaria, KLCC.

went out for a massive outing yesterday with a bunch of friends and our lecturer The Queen T.


i was actually hoping for everyone to come because a whole class outing seemed like an awesome idea (even though it's the aquarium we went to and mostly kids enjoy it hehehe). wanted to see everyone else in class so badly but unfortunately most of them couldn't make it so it was down to just the 6 of us, namely:

the outing was supposed to start at about 2pm but we arrived early to hang out with althea. : )

around 5-ish we walked all the way from KLCC to Sungai Wang to get some cheap gadgets for our phones. then we headed home on the monorail and then proceeded using the KTM.


it was damn tiring but it was fun nonetheless. : )

The apartment, the rain, and me.

it's been two days since i got back. i woke up to the sounds of the raindrops pitter-pattering at my bedroom window. the images of the droplets dancing outside my apartment made me smile. i turned away from the beauty and came back to the darkness of my room, barely lit by the cloudy brightness of the rain. it is dark, but i can still see her figure lying there; her mind still afloat in the safety of her dreams, oblivious to the things around her. i feel what she feels, and i smiled again as if i were with her in her thoughts and her little world.

outside, it is raining. people are walking fast to shelter. cars are stuck in the traffic jam again. i can hear the sirens of the police cars not far away from where i was.

dad's not around, and my sisters are out for the day so mum decided to treat me to a little brunch at Zaika's. : )



zaika's this small and funky north-indian cuisine restaurant that was launched in miri last year. funny thing was, i never got to try the food there before i left for kay-elle. reason being my dad prefers other food for dinner and my sisters can't really take indian anyway.


so since the three of them weren't around, my mum (an adventurer for any type of *costly* cuisine as long as my dad's not around to stop her) FINALLY brought me to zaika's. she knows how much i love anything indian so she decided to give me a surprise. : )))

this crispy crepe thingey they serve before your meals arrive.

totally digging the sauce they prepared. awesomeness to the max. : D

the interior.

i never expected zaika to be this petite, but the place was relaxing and comfy nonetheless. i really liked how the smell of spices and the sounds of punjabi music fill you up the moment you step through the front door. the service was rather nice too, imho.

i think the only reason why the place was totally deserted was because of the price. rather costly, i must say.

our drinks.

mum decided to go wild and ordered their mocktails. i had "Angrezi Kiss" (the white one) whereas mum got the "Zaika Sutra" (the red-ish one). my mocktail is basically a blend of lychees with limes and it's a rather nice beverage to have if you don't have a sweet tooth. the hint of lime tones down the sweetness of the lychees, making a perfect combination of the both. the Zaika Sutra's a mixture of Plum and Passionfruit, a rather exotic taste for those who's looking for something different. : )

mocktails are @ 8MYR each.






the food took a rather long time to arrive provided that we were the only customers there, but i can definitely tell you that it's worth the wait. : )

my non-vegetable lunch platter. (standing @ 27.50MYR each)

consisting of:

Mutton Rogan Josh - lamb curry with mustard oil, ginger, fennel and yoghurt.

Murg Tikka Masala - tandoori roasted chicken with a tomato & cardamom flavoured cream sauce.

Dal of The Day - a special blend of lentils slow braised served with freshly ground spices.

Basmati Rice - long grain Indian Rice.

Naan - tandoori bread freshly baked and hot.


for all of the above? one word: AWESOME. : )

stayed home and watched movies on PPStream today too.

"The Memory Keeper's Daughter", adapted from novel by Kim Edwards.

i can't believe my eyes when i caught this on PPStream. it's actually from one of my favourite books. i didn't know that they made it into a MOVIE. O_O

overall it was okay. the story line went away from the original novel (like most novel-adapted movies always does) but it was still tolerable.

"Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", back2back movie marathon.

watched the first and sequel of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. it was such a long time ago since i've watched the sequel. i don't even remember angelina jolie doing a british accent in the movies!!


omg hearing her do an accent makes me want to combust and DIE DIE DIE! *drools. too hawt. must. resist. temptation!!

spent the afternoon with deaney and hayley today. it was a rather short hang-out but it was still fun nonetheless. : )

yeah unfortunately the yellow man doesn't exactly follow me around all the time.

as ya'll know, i've been hanging around at home in Miri for the past 5 days and counting. am enjoying the atmosphere and the hospitality and the people around here. : )

went to visit sarah and ms tiong that day. miss tiong is doing alright as always. still a bit on the tired side but she seems a lot more cheerful. i miss talking to her and listening to her thunderous laughter. : )


spent almost half of the afternoon talking to the boipren sarah. caught up with each other's lives and had a good chat while we're at it.

i was a little bummed about not being able to get the LG Cookie as i hoped i would, but this baby's proving to be quite an acheivement. was browsing through the phones the other day and was upset that i couldn't get the cookie, but my eyes landed on this one and i felt this immediate liking towards it.

looked it up online beforehand and found out that, like my previous love SE K608i, this phone's limited on the market too. and it's got awesome specs.

and most importantly, mum said yes to it.


so off it goes, into my pocket. : )
