New Love - The Wailin' Jennys.

new folk song love! : DDD

The Wailin' Jennys are a Canadian folk trio from Winnipeg, Manitoba and New York, consisting of soprano Ruth Moody, mezzo Nicky Mehta, and alto Heather Masse. All members also play instruments (acoustic guitar, electric upright bass, mandolin, banjo, accordion, bodhran, drums, harmonica, and violin).

The Wailin' Jennys have released several albums, and tour regularly through North America and Europe. Their album Firecracker made it to number two spot on the Billboard Bluegrass charts in 2006.

The group is featured regularly on Garrison Keillor's show A Prairie Home Companion. The group's name is a pun on the country singer Waylon Jennings.

currently listening to their 2nd album called "40 Days". their songs are really great. my favourite would have to be (what else) the acapella "The Parting Glass". their voices merge together so beautifully and yet each unique. and the harmonizing is SHWEET! ; D

give the wailin' jennys a try and you would understand why. : )

or you could just drop me an email for the whole album or selected songs. sharing is caring! ^_^

and a big shoutout to tiffo, for introducing the wailin' jennys into my life. [ hugs tiff ]
