"Miss Universe 2008"
I am proud to say that I have been cordially invited to attend the "Miss Universe 2008" last night at the Mega Hotel, Miri. I have to say, it was one of the most unforgettable events I have ever been to in these few years of my teenage life.
The crowd was wild, the atmosphere was absolutely great and the girls, oh the GIRLS, were so sexy da*n HAWT that they made every girl in the audience grow green with envy.
It was definitely THE time of my life...

What? You don't believe I attended the "Miss Universe 2008" event? I did! And I have photos AND videos to prove it!!
( dots )
owh wait. did i forget to mention it was the MISS UNIVERSE TRANSVESTITE EDITION 2008 that i attended?? ooooh my bad.
hehheh.
Yeah you've heard it right. Miss Universe 2008's Transvestite Edition was held here, right smack in the middle of town. I couldn't believe it at first, but when I saw the whole thing with my own eyes I had nothing else to say but to say that it was a great show. : D
The show was suppose to start at 7pm but instead, it started at about 8.30pm. Talk about the VIPs being fashionably late. Being really bored and in dire need to check out the "ladies", my sisters, Lilian and I went backstage to take a few pictures with the ladies.
And MAN do they LOVE having their photos taken!!
Not long after, the event started. We couldn't really keep our eyes on the table and our hands on the food because the first event (National Costume Competition) had everyone's attention glued on stage. With their flashy ourfits and "interesting" accents, we couldn't help paying every little bit of our attention to them! And they even have their own "diva" name too! One was called "Rebecca-Scarlett-Johansson" like hahaha wtf.
So here are a few of the contestants that night (most of them sashay-ed too much for me to take a nice picture of them):

The contestants were really sporting and they were really into the whole beauty peagent thing. Though I have to admit, they went pretty far and over the edge with their personal information. Most of them claimed to be 20 something year olds but they look older than my grandmother. Miss Singapore was bigger than me and my sisters all added up together and she said her weight was 49KG?!
Yeah right.
But there was one who caught my eye though. The minute she made her entrance into the hall, EVERYONE (yes and i do mean everyone) looked at her from head to toe and I could see all the guys drooling all over the red carpet. She wasn't a contestant, but HELL did we all wish she were.
I couldn't take a close up picture of her though because she was constantly moving around and stuff. She did walk upstage to give a prize to the Best National Costume. I took every chance to take the best picture of her.

me LOVE!! : )
( i later got the information from a neighbouring table that her name was Marina and she was a former Miss Universe, but i forgot which year.)

The Best National Costume award went to Miss Paraguay. Her huge feathers can bring anyone off the stage...
No I'm serious, at one point she turned and almost knocked Miss Japan, Miss Korea and Miss Bangladesh off the stage.
The entertainments of the night were great too. There were singing (more like lip-syncing), sketches and there was even a drama put up. It was great. The best would have to be the lip-syncing performances though. Some of them put up such a great show that if they hadn't come downstage to play around with the guests, we wouldn't have known they were lip-syncing.
One even came down and rubbed "her" *fake* boobs into my dad's face and kissed him on the head. Ngehheh.

I had all the videos of the performances taken, but it'll take a while for YouTube.com to function properly.
And my best picture of the night?

My favourite - Marina lip-syncing with A REAL LIVE SNAKE WRAPPED AROUND HER BODY HISSING AWAY. The snake was practically tossed around and wanted to snap at everyone else but she was so calm and collected. This was the best picture of the night, i have to say. And I am darn glad that it was a picture of her too.
She SO looked like Toni Braxton in this picture, but i SWEAR she is hotter than anything and anyone ALIVE when you see her in the flesh.
Totally love Marina. : D

And the moment we've all been waiting for...
And the results are IN!
...
4th Runner Up: MISS UGANDA
3rd Runner Up: MISS PUERTO RICO
2nd Runner Up: MISS BRUNEI
1st Runner Up: MISS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
and the new Miss Universe 2008 goes to....
MISS ISRAEL!!

Well like i said, everyone loved her. Everytime she goes onstage, the audience would go CRAZY(well, most of her transvestite friends in the crowd anyway). She was the favourite of them all.
The rest of the results are as follow:
Best National Costume: MISS PARAGUAY
Best Evening Dress: MISS ZIMBABWE
Most Photogenic: MISS PERU
Miss Favourite: MISS ISRAEL (see???)
Best Body: MISS THAILAND
Top 10 Finalists: MISS JAPAN, MISS HONG KONG, MISS INDIA, MISS UGANDA, MISS PUERTO RICO, MISS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, MISS ISRAEL, MISS FRANCE, MISS BRUNEI AND MISS THAILAND.
The whole thing ended at around 12.15am (yeah this morning) and everyone was worn out. But I must admit, we should have more events like these. If half of the people who plan on doing huge events had the energy and the passion to perform on stage like the transvestites do, we would be casted in Hollywood already.
And without further ado, BACKSTAGE PICTURES!!!!

Great night baby, great night. : )
